A Reminder for the Days You Feel Overwhelmed
I’ve been in my head way too much lately. You know that feeling… When your thoughts are so loud you start to believe they’re telling the truth? When you replay a moment from years ago like it just happened? When you fast-forward into a future that doesn’t even exist yet? Yeah. That… It’s exhausting.
I came across something today that felt like a gentle slap from the universe. A list of reminders from book The Power of Now. It hit hard. So I’m writing this here, not only as a reminder to myself but maybe also for you if your mind’s been running the show too loud lately.
- Your thoughts are loud, but they aren’t always true
- Most of your stress comes from living in your head
- Stop replaying the past. It’s done
- Stop fast-forwarding the future. It hasn’t happened
- Peace is found in this one moment
- Take a deep breath. That’s presence
- You don’t have to fix everything right now
- Let life be what it is, not what you expect
- Not every thought needs your attention
- You can feel things without reacting to them
- The now is the only place you can actually live
- You miss life when you’re always in your head
- Being present doesn’t mean perfect. It means aware
- No moment is ever wrong. It just is
- You don’t need all the answers. Just awareness
- The more still you become, the clearer life feels
- Let go of the need to control everything
- What you resist will only grow louder
- Just be here. That’s more than enough
- Sometimes the best thing you can do is nothing at all
Taking a deep breath is a way to come back to myself. To feel my body. To pause the noise in my head. I don’t need to rush to fix everything all the time. I don’t need to carry the weight of every emotion, every thought, every person. Some things aren’t meant to be solved or figured out. They’re meant to move through me. To be felt fully. To be seen for what they are and then gently let go. And I’m learning the hard way that:
– Not every thought deserves my energy.
– Not every emotion needs a reaction.
– Not everything is mine to hold.
The more I try to control everything, the more I feel like I’m drowning in expectations that were never mine to begin with. So I’m practicing stillness, calmness. Letting things be what they are instead of what I think they should be.
And here’s a truth I keep forgetting: Being present doesn’t mean perfect. It just means aware.
I’ve been so afraid of messing up, of getting it wrong, of missing something… but what if there’s no wrong moment? What if every second is just what it is? No judgement. Not stuck in your head analysing everything. No spinning around it over and over again.
Sometimes awareness is enough, and doing nothing is the most powerful thing I can do.
Sometimes just being here is more than enough.
If you’re reading this and your brain’s been loud too, try doing less. Try being more, try breathing.
You don’t have to earn your peace. You already are enough ♥
