Chamomile Tea For Anxiety

Stock up on your chamomile tea for anxiety! This magickal herb has long been used to help the body and mind to relax. This flower and herb is associated with the sun and confidence and can pack a powerful punch in magick and medicine.

Chamomile has been used for ages to help with anxiety. It calms the mind and body, and in a 2016 study, researchers found that chamomile reduced anxiety in those with generalized anxiety disorder.

That study also found that they improved their blood pressure and that the side effects were also noted in the placebo group.

This plant is tranquilizing and can even act as a powerful antidepressant. Let’s look at the different benefits of chamomile, and then I will give you a spell to try next time you are anxious.

Chamomile Magickal Correspondences

Chamomile is often associated with the sun. It is associated with growth, confidence, and masculine energy. Despite it being an herb associated with calm and sleepiness, chamomile’s magical properties can actually be quite energetic.
This plant has also been used to attract lovers, increase happiness, banish negativity, and bring pleasant dreams.

Chamomile tea will banish negativity from your body and raise your vibrations, allowing you to manifest more easily.

Meditating after drinking chamomile tea will promote peace, focus, and tranquility. It helps you to center yourself when times are tough.

Used in spells, chamomile’s magical properties will break curses, draw prosperity, purify items, and encourage restful sleep.

Because of its association with the sun, chamomile is an excellent herb to use as an offering for sun gods and goddesses.

Planting fresh chamomile around your home will protect it from intruders and evil spirits. By growing your own German chamomile, you’ll be sure no pesticides were used in the making of your herbal tea.

Please don’t ingest essential oils, even for herbs like chamomile. However, chamomile essential oil can be used to dress candles and other ritual tools.

You can brew a strong chamomile tea in boiling water and then spray or sprinkle that tea around the home to remove negative energy or curses.

In candle magic, you can dress a candle with chamomile essential oil and then roll the candle in chamomile petals. This can then be burned at the summer solstice in honor of the sun god or used in anti-anxiety spells.

German chamomile (Matricaria recutita or Matricaria chamomilla) is the most commonly used variety in the US. English chamomile or Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum Nobile) is just as potent for magick, however.

Chamomile was utilized in Ancient Egypt for medicinal purposes. It was even employed in the mummification process. For that reason, chamomile is a good offering for Egyptian gods. This plant was dedicated primarily to the sun god Ra.

The use of chamomile dates back to ancient history, with the Ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks all using chamomile in their healing arts.

Who Should Avoid Chamomile Tea?

Some people should avoid ingesting chamomile without talking to their doctor first. These people include those with a history of pollen allergies, previously reacted to chamomile products, and infants and very young children.

Infants should avoid chamomile because it can be contaminated with botulism spores. This is basically harmless for adults, but infants have a weaker immune system. This is the same reason infants should avoid honey.

Pregnant women should avoid chamomile because it is a smooth muscle relaxant. This effect can cause miscarriages, especially before 12 weeks.

Some forms of chamomile tea can be more potent or less potent, depending on the tea recipe. If you want to be sure of your tea’s content, you should get the base components and mix it yourself.

Remember to start with lower doses and work yourself up to see how you react to the tea.

Long-term use of chamomile has been found to be safe, but always keep an eye on yourself. If you notice any side effects, stop using chamomile, and speak to a doctor. Allergies can pop up at any time and can develop suddenly.
