100 Things That Makes Me Happy

Oftentimes, I catch myself focusing too much on the negatives. I think a lot of us do; we dwell on the things that stress us out or make us anxious way more than we celebrate what actually brings us joy. So today, I made a list. A happy list.

Here are 100 things that make me happy:

  1. My family (especially my brother).
  2. Coloring books.
  3. My dog, always thrilled to see me and patiently endures my overly long cuddle sessions.
  4. Online shopping (because stores are chaotic and peopley).
  5. Road trips.
  6. Cooking.
  7. The smell of fresh laundry.
  8. Horror movies.
  9. Scented candles.
  10. Reading a really good book, the kind you can’t put down.
  11. Finding the perfect song to match my mood.
  12. Napping on a rainy day.
  13. Butterflies.
  14. Baileys with ice.
  15. That freshly brushed, flossed, and rinsed teeth feeling.
  16. Writing – blogs, journals, midnight rambles, anything.
  17. Photography.
  18. Animals. All of them. And one day, I want a giant farm full of them.
  19. Laughing.
  20. Bubble baths.
  21. Watching a show I love with no interruptions.
  22. Remembering a really good dream.
  23. Spending time outdoors.
  24. The smell of freshly cut grass.
  25. Halloween.
  26. Christmas.
  27. Spring – one of my favorite seasons.
  28. Giving. Truly one of the best feelings.
  29. Sushi.
  30. Lazy days with pizza, a good movie, and cuddles.

I hope some of these made you smile, because they truly make me feel good – even on hard days. I encourage you to try it too. You don’t have to list 100, just start with five. Sometimes, naming the good things helps shift the mood, even if it’s just a little.
