100 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME

I have always struggled to write a short blurb describing myself. I cringe every time I get the standard question: “Tell me about yourself.” I mean, where does one start?! Although I post some details about my life here on this blog, I don’t really get too personal. I always love reading people’s “fun/random facts” posts, so I set off to come up with some things about me that you might not know (maybe not even my closest friends). So, here’s a little light reading for you! Haha.

My 100 Random, Funny, Embarrassing & Hopefully-a-Little-Interesting Facts

1. I have traveled to 21 countries – There’s a map on the “About Me” page where you can see all countries & cities that I have been to.
2. I speak Portuguese (my native language), English (Fluently), Dutch (Fluently), and Spanish (Intermediary). I’m currently learning Danish.
3. I have a huge fear of roaches or any insect with many legs.
4. I didn’t learn how to ride a bike till I was 8/9…. I was too scared! (thanks dad for the patience)
5. Sun in Pisces with Ascendant in Aries.
6. My favorite colors are pink, purple, black, and gray.
7. My favorite ice cream flavor is peppermint.
8. Wolf is my spirit animal. I have a big wolf tattoo on my right arm (there’s a picture on my Instagram).
9. Talking about tattoos… I have six tattoos and I want more!
10. I love, love, love to cook but really dislike baking – Not to brag, but I’m a really good cook.
11. Crystals, Herbs, and Plants are my everything!
12. My favorite city in the world is Amsterdam. So much freedom, so many stores, and nice restaurants, museums, etc. I loved living in Holland from 2004 till 2017.
13. My favorite country for food is Italy – every single meal I ate in Italy was heavenly. I loved it!
14. I have been to Italy at least 6 times. I can’t get enough. I love Italy.
15. I love watching horror movies.
16. I’m a total conflict-avoider. I hate arguments. They give me anxiety.
17. I have a younger brother, he is 3 years younger than me. Amo você Fabrício!
18. I’m a huge introvert. A lot of people tell me that they don’t believe me when I tell them that, but when I know someone well, I open up a lot more. After a long day out, or hanging out with family/friends, for example, I really need quiet time to recharge, or I feel totally overwhelmed.
19. I love to travel so much because it brings the world to life, makes me a better person, and lets me visit some of the most beautiful places in the world.
20. I’m an avid reader. As I am going through books and blogs I look for descriptive words to help expand my vocabulary. I’m a BIG fan of Stephen King.
21. People who are indecisive really annoy me.
22. I strive every day to live in the moment.
23. My favorite subject at school was biology &, history.
24. I do believe in extraterrestrial life.
25. I’m grumpy in the mornings. Seriously, do not wake me up! Let me sleep and wake up on my own time or I release all my demons on you!
26. I’m allergic to insect bites and stings, dust mites, pineapple, kiwi, and mushrooms, and I have lactose intolerance (found out on January 2023 in the worse way haha).
27. My favorite ice cream flavor is peppermint.
28. My two favorite celebrities are Angelina Jolie and Keanu Reeves.
29. I hate flying. I love airports and lounges, but the act of flying makes me sick. I don’t like heights and any turbulence makes me think the plane is about to crash. (Ironic considering how often I fly!)
30. I drink tea. Lots of it.
31. When I was younger, my nickname was Wednesday Addams. Eh, I was born on a Wednesday, nothing related to the nickname though.
32. When I was born, the umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck and killed me during birth, they had to do an emergency c-section and revive me.
33. I dream almost every day and always remember my dreams.
34. I’m ambidextrous by birth. I can use both my hands for writing and doing other work, but I’m a bit slow while using my left hand and I prefer to write with my right hand.
35. I’m very organized, I try to keep things in their place. My house is always clean.
36. I have heard from almost everyone that I’m the strongest woman they have ever seen or been with.
37. I try to find happiness in the small things in life. It might seem trivial to you but I think finding happiness in small things in life is beautiful.
38. I like Rainy days.
39. I like reading and understanding people.
40. Rude behavior doesn’t go down well with me. If I’m nice to you, I expect the same from you.
41. If you don’t have proof of something. It’s pretty tough for me to believe you. I have a pretty strong respect for my rationale. And, I keep its judgments in very high esteem.
42. I have been married once.
43. I’m one of those people who get a joke after 2 minutes and laugh for 5 minutes.
44. I’m trustworthy. I can digest the secrets of anyone. So I am a very good friend.
45. Whenever I am in bad mood, I isolate myself from everyone. Nothing personal.
46. I am not afraid of darkness, in fact, I love the dark.
47. I hate small talk. It gives me anxiety.
48. I’m an overthinker.
49. I can reply to a text message in 0.2 seconds or in 3-5 business days.
50. I would totally push anyone in front of zombies to save my dog.
51. I have a happy personality and a sad soul in one body. It feels weird sometimes.
52. Tell me not to do something and I will do it twice and take pictures.

56. I prefer solitude. I have enough voices in my head to keep me busy at any given point in time.
57. I zone out pretty easily, especially when I’m around people whose banter I have no interest in listening to.

59. I laugh very loudly. (So loudly that at times it becomes embarrassing for my friends when we are in public) and do I care? Nope.
60. I’m the black sheep in my family.
61. I am intuitive, and insightful, and have weird dreams that often come true.

63. I am deeply emotional and very highly sensitive. I can feel people’s emotions and pain easily.
64. I don’t trust or believe people easily. It takes a lot of courage and time for me to trust any person.
65. My face reacts very easily. You say something and I just can’t hide what I am feeling inside. It’s all visible on my face mostly.
66. When I was a baby a neighbor pulled my elbow when she was getting me up. Had to have my elbow mobilized for a while. Never pick up ur kids or any kids by the elbow!
67. I used to have a crush on Jim Carrey when I was a teenager. Don’t ask me why.
68. I don’t know how to swim and I’m also terrified of rivers or running water, deep bodies of water such as the sea, oceans, or lakes. If I can’t see the bottom I’m not going in.

70. I make an awkward noise when I yawn. It goes like AaaAaawwwwwhhhraw hahaha It’s weird, I know :3
71. I never liked playing with dolls, in fact, I hate dolls! They are so creepy. I was a tomboy until 15-16 years old. Most of my friends were males and I enjoyed spending time with them playing football, volleyball, and basketball.
72. I am sapiosexual.
73. I’m a huge nerd in case you couldn’t tell.
74. I have myopia and astigmatism, I wear glasses since I was 8 years old.
75. I have a resting bitch face but I promise you I’m really nice!
76. I was obsessed with Jaspion, She-Ra, and He-Man. I had a plastic random sword that I called “Sword of Grayskull” ｡•᎑•｡
77. I don’t really like when people call me by my name, Daniele. Some people who are not Brazilian can’t pronounce it right and always end up calling me either Daniella or Daniel. So please call me Dani.
78. My hobbies are: dancing, fishing, board games, acrylic painting, drawing, candle making, star gazing, coloring, writing, reading, watching movies or tv series, photography, home decorating, cross stitching, DIY, going to museums, puzzles, travel, blogging (I’ve been blogging for over 13+ years now and it is one of my very favorite hobbies for so many reasons), listening to music, singing, collecting snowglobes of places that I’ve been, plants (I have so many, my house looks like a mini jungle), playing video games, collecting cute tea cups, collecting FunkoPop figures, cooking, wine tasting, gardening, sightseeing, driving… I think that’s all I can remember haha
79. Even though I’m a tiny human (1,60cm) I was on a basketball team in high school.
80. I’m biracial. My father was (he passed away in 2004 RIP ♥) black and my mom is white.
81. I’m not really into Anime or Manga. I’ve watched like a few (“Attack on Titan”, “Clannad” and “Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac” -when I was a kid) but I’m not that passionate about them.
82. I can’t play any musical instruments BUT I can sing.
83. I listen to most genres of songs, It all depends on my mood. My favorite rapper is Dax, and my favorite metal bands are Amon Amarth – I have been to their concert 4 times!, Finge Finger Death Punch, and Slipknot). You can check out my Spotify page here.
84. I like to open all windows in the morning so the house can get fresh air, even during winter with freezing temperatures.

86. I love affection! I want to be hugged, kissed, and spoiled!
87. I have Asthma, Fibromyalgia, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Hypothyroidism, and sometimes High Blood Pressure… and yes, I take medication for everything.
88. I’ve seen death. And it isn’t pretty.
89. I am a quote junkie. Anything that speaks truth in a powerful, succinct, beautiful, and/or clever way just GETS me. It can be song lyrics, poetry, or just quotes.
90.  I love writing. Writing is one, if not the biggest, passion I have in life. It helps me to process my thoughts and express my feelings. 
91. I don’t like staring at mirrors so much, It’s like something else is in there staring at me. If I look in the mirror for too long I start having “hallucinations” like my face distorting and turning into a “monster” or I see an unknown person, monsters… I try to avoid it, especially at night.
92. I love potatoes.
93. I’ve never had a surprise party on my Birthday.
94. I love eating fruits, my favorites are watermelon, melons, grapes, berries (all), mango, guava, mandarin oranges, bananas, papaya, dragon fruit, avocado, persimmon, peach, quince, cashew, carambola, pitanga, jaboticaba, and jack fruit.
95. My favorite flowers are Peonies.
96. I can be a very empathetic person, if you cry, I’ll cry with you. – Did I mention this above? Hmm. Short-term memory loss – Dory.
97. One of my favorite ever quotes is from a Nickelback song called “Never Gonna Be Alone” which is also one of my favorites I cry every time I hear or watch the video clip because makes me think of my dad: ‘You’ve gotta live every single day Like it’s the only one, what if tomorrow never comes?’
98. I get easily distracted.
99. I love thunderstorms. When they happen at night, I lay awake in bed long after I should be asleep, listening to the wind howl at my window. Sometimes when I can’t sleep, I play my Thunderstorm Playlist on Spotify and sleep like a little cute snoring boar.
100. I hate it when people give unsolicited opinions/advice. If I Want it, I’ll Ask for It.
